PLESIOPIDAE: BLUE DEVILS and HULAFISH

The family Plesiopidae contains the Blue Devils, Longfins, Prettyfins and Hulafish, distributed throughout the Indo-West Pacific. In Australia, there are 7 genera and at least 20 species (CSIRO, 2007). Several species each in the Australian endemic genera Paraplesiops (blue devils) and Trachinops (hulafishes) are known from southern Australia (Kuiter, in Gomon et al., 1994; CSIRO, 2007).
