Welcome to the Reef Wiki

Reef Wiki is a collaborative knowledge base for the southern Australian marine environment. It is a place to record and share you observations about this region and to help improve knowledge and understanding of this unique part of the world. Members of the Reef Watch community can contribute to these pages in a similar way to other wikis e.g. Wikipedia.

Before you can start editing pages (or creating your own) you will need to do two things:

  • Register as a Reef Watch site user - free, open to anyone, and takes less than a minute
  • Familiarise yourself with the rules of this site and how to use this wiki. Click here

Our current areas of interest are...

  • Reef profiles (including site details, access, description, biology, and other interesting features)
  • Reef ecology (subtidal and intertidal, generalised observations and theory)
  • Natural history (of reef life - macroalgae, invertebrates, and fish)
  • Marine photography (great photos plus tips and tricks for taking better pictures)

If you would like to contribute to machiaj a topic that doesn't fit into one of the above, please feel free to create a new area of interest... Guidelines
