  • There is an opportunity for CCSA member groups to increase their involvement and capacity in fisheries management issues

  • This has arisen from a Spencer Gulf and West Coast Prawn Fishermen’s Association (SGWCPFA) project - funded by the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation (FRDC) – entitled “Competition to collaboration: Exploring co-management models for the Spencer Gulf Prawn Fishery”

  • The Association recognised the need to consult constructively with the conservation sector to understand their concerns about, and aspirations for, the ecologically sustainable management of the fishery. CCSA was subsequently invited to be a co-investigator on the project, along with PIRSA Fisheries

  • A CCSA Steering Committee was assembled to facilitate our involvement in this project and work with PIRSA Fisheries and industry (SGWCPFA) Steering Committees.
